Is water from the bathroom tap safe to drink?

I was just wondering if it is the same water you get from the kitchen tap as it would be much easier for me just to drink from my tap in my en-suite instead of going to the kitchen at night.

we dont have a loft so where could it be kept?

You need to check where it comes from first of all. If it comes from the mains then it's just the same as the kitchen tap so it's fine but if it comes from a storage tank then it's not. My first few houses had storage tanks in the loft supplying hot and cold water to the bathroom but my new house just has water straight from the mains.

EDIT: Your tank would have to be accessible so if it's not in your loft, a cupboard, basement (although I dont know about water pressure and all that), then I'd say you dont have one and your water was coming from the mains with the hot water coming from the mains and through a boiler.
