Problem installing Graco Snugride 32 car seat base in Ford Fusion?
My husband and I have already successfully installed the base in his 03 camry. However we have been trying to install our second car seat base in my 08 Ford Fusion with no luck. We can get the base in tight but when we wiggle the far side (closest to the drive and passenger seats) the center console which the base is secured against keeps falling down which then makes the base insecure again. We did not have this problem with the camry and we were just wondering if anyone else experienced this problem with this car and car seat or any other for that matter and could offer some advice. We have the camry base installed in the center position and we would like to have the fusion base in the center seat as well to offer the most protection from side impact. Also, if we end up having to place the base on one of the sides would our side airbags be a problem? Thanks for any advice or help you can offer.
Depending on where you live, most police stations and fire stations have at least 1 person per shift who are certified car seat installers. You can take it there and ask them to put it in (its a free service), and if its loose they know what to add to make it secure.
My husband is a firefighter and I've taken all 3 of our carseats to his station to get them installed. We had the worst time with my car because it has leather seats and they kept sliding, and they added pool noodles under it which secured it perfectly and was legal and everything. I never would have thought of that. That would be my recommendation; take it to a free professional who's happy to help!
