How do you use a dressing tool to clean a the surface of a grinding wheel?
I purchased the dressing tool from Busy Bee in London. It has spiked wheels at the business end. Are the wheels placed against the wheel in the vertical postion or the horizontal position? How long do you hold the tool on the wheel?. Are the tool wheels supposed to wear away as the tool does its job? Any advise will be appreciated. Don
It depends on the tool.
Most are setup to rotate/counter-rotate with the wheel.
That way the tool wears evenly.
You usually put the tool straight out from the support/guard and let the tool clean and straighten the uneven wear on the grinding wheel.
You leave it there until the wheel is square again.
