I recently found a pretty nice rear projection tv at the town dump. I took it apart, and it seems to work fine with the exception that the mirror has shattered (I assume this is the reason for it being at the dump.) I would like to repair it and use it myself, but as I am a DIY type of person, I would prefer not to spend more than $20 to fix it.

Would it be possible just to buy a cheap mirror at walmart and cut it myself, or do rear projection televisions use a special type of mirror? The pieces of the mirror that I removed appear to be just like a regular hang-on-the-wall mirror, and I know it needs to be flat.
